Project description
20,070 lf of 9.67ﾔ od pipe; 12ﾒ diameter tunnel (approximately 38,300 Cubic yards). There were five (5) deep shafts approximately 240 feet deep; three (3) were used. Pumping distances exceeded 6,000 feet. Attempts by other cellular concrete suppliers failed to engineer methods to backfill this project in lieu of logistics and water infiltration. Specialty fast setting concrete was utilized to overcome grout wash out. Project grouting was successfully completed ahead of schedule. Compressive strength of the flyash/cement cellular concrete exceeded 300 psi.
