Project description
Encapsulate with Grout, LACBWER Reactor Vessel and Internal Components (approximately 84 cubic yards). The Dairyland Nuclear Power Plant was the first commercial power plant in America. In order to finalize the decommissioning and removal, lightweight cellular concrete was engineered to totally encapsulate the internals of the reactor for shielding, removal and transport. Critical to the encapsulment was to keep the grout light and stable to not モover weighヤ the package for hoisting and transport. Pacific International Grout Company successfully met project requirements with a specially formulated cellular concrete mix design.
