Project description
Approximately 80,600 cubic yards of 36 pcf cellular concrete. The ﾓMarquette Interchangeﾔ in Milwaukee is the ﾓBig Digﾔ in Wisconsin. Load-reducing fills (cellular concrete) are installed by Pacific International Grout Company behind MSE walls for approach fills. Phase 1, summer of 2006 was completed ahead of schedule and approximately 35,000 cubic yards was installed. Phase 2, approximately 7,500 cubic yards was completed ahead of schedule in July of 2007. The final Phase 3 will require approximately 40,000 cubic yards placed in two (2) months in the spring of 2008. A flyash/cement design for the cellular concrete exceeds project specifications, including freeze-thaw resistance.
